Are you a Housing Officer, seeking your next assignment in Devon?
My client has an immediate hybrid working opportunity for a housing Office to join their team on an initial interim basis.
Based in Honiton or Exmouth with some work from home opportunities, the successful applicant will provide a customer focused housing options and advice service, preventing and relieving homelessness wherever possible as a priority in line with Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 legislation.
Requirements:
An understanding of current issues in local government.
Knowledge of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
An understanding of the Devon Home Choice system.
Awareness of the local housing market and housing providers.
Knowledge of local statutory and voluntary agencies.
Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when working to tight deadlines and managing conflicting priorities.
Ability to be innovative and creative when identifying ways to prevent homelessness.
Ability to write clear and concise reports and letters etc.
Competent with ICT packages including Microsoft Office.
Motivational interviewing skills.
Analytical, negotiating and mediation skills.
Ability to build good strong working relationships with colleagues and customers.
Resilience and able to deal with challenging situations.
Ability to be diplomatic, tactful, friendly and empathetic to customers and colleagues.
Ability to build good strong working relationships with colleagues and customers.
