Responsible to: Room Leader
What is the purpose of the job?
- Work in partnership with Room leader, Deputy and
- To follow CMDN Policies and Procedures in compliance with the Children’s Act, Safeguarding, Health and Safety legislation and Equalities Act (2010).
- Support Montessori practice throughout the day.
- Follow the EYFS framework.
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times.

- High standards of care and education.
- Compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Staff who feel supported in their roles.
Key tasks
- Provide a positive practice role model to all staff to make sure that Crossharbour routines and procedures are in place.
- Support room leader with implementation of the above.
- Support room leader to make sure that the room is up to date with observations, planning and assessments, story books and communication books.
- Ensure that practice and provision meets the requirements of the EYFS.
- Share with room Leader (or Deputy/Manager) on a daily basis any concerns, updates or information.
- Maintain effective methods of communication with children, staff, parents and carers.
- Attend meetings as and when required.
- Maintain open and positive working relationships with staff.
- Working alongside the room leader to oversee :
- Medication – administering and paperwork
- Daily paperwork is complete : Risk Assessments, Checks, Accident/Incident forms, signing in sheets, food/sleep/nappy charts, room checklist
- Making sure that the room is set up to include continuous provision as well as planned activities.
Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Room Leader/Deputy and Manager
