Service and Business Development Manager | Wolverhampton | 37 hours a week | £39,964-£43,964
You will support the Chief Executive to ensure that our client successfully meets the needs of all stakeholders; to manage Project Leads, Infrastructure Support and Core Staff to deliver contracts and agreements; to lead on service and business planning and development; to ensure the effective and efficient operational management of WVCA; to develop a business plan and fundraising strategy for WVCA to bring in funding and to manage its implementation.
You will be a credible and experienced manager, and you will be able to demonstrate a strategic understanding of the VCSEF sector with experience in managing staff and delivering outcome-focused projects.
Are you the right person for the job?
Educated to degree level, NVQ Level 4 or equivalent level of experience.
A minimum of 2 years experience working in the Voluntary, Community Social Enterprise and Faith Sector (VCSEF) at a senior management level or equivalent
Experience in the development of policies and procedures
Strategic/business planning and line management experience
Marketing and promotion experience
Experience working with public sector funding/commissioning agencies
Project planning and management
Experience of working within diverse communities with a good understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity and good working relationships
Entrepreneurial ability and experience and knowledge of successfully applying to funding bodies
Your role will include but not be limited to
Work closely with the Chief Executive to identify and agree strategy and direction
Provide strong operational management of WVCA project leads, infrastructure and core staff
Provide leadership, direction and management to secure planned additional financial resources through a funding strategy and enterprise opportunities for WVCA and the wider VCSEF sector
Develop and implement a marketing strategy and plan to promote the growth and development of the organisation
Work closely with external partners and commissioning/funding agencies as appropriate to ensure that the organisation delivers the support and services that are required and/or contracted
Review and oversee performance management processes to meet the needs of all stakeholders
Ensure with the Project Leads that the organisation establishes and maintains good practice in service provision with the VCSEF sector
Produce a Business Plan for the organisation outlining objectives, targets and priorities for the future, including a financial and funding strategy
Review, monitor and have oversight of progress and achievements against the Business Plan and contracts including SUIT, Social Prescribing and Infrastructure
Write and secure funding bids to secure the developmental needs of WVCA and the VCSEF sector.
Promote and implement Equality and Diversity framework and Health and Safety Policy
Be fully conversant with changing legislation and performance expectations in areas affecting the work of the organisation
Ensure that promotional messages and operational practices are consistent with the values of the organisation
Ensure effective procedures and processes are in place for successful project delivery
Provide verbal and written reports to a range of stakeholders
Attend a range of forums as required to promote their offer
Undertake regular supervision training as agreed with the Chief Executive
Carry out regular supervision of staff
Other duties commensurate with the post
To deputise for the Chief Executive as required
