A wonderful opportunity to join a lean site operation, as their sole Instrument Technician for one of the leading producers of oil and gas across the globe. As the newly appointed Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for maintenance activities across their Teesside, predominantly sites. From time to time, you may be required to support other sites in their UK operational network too. This role is suited to an experienced Electrical / Instrument technician, who is technically competent and self-starting, in addition to proactive with maintenance activities aiding the sites being long-term reliability.
The Role: Reporting to the Operations manager, the Instrument Technician will be accountable for planning and execution of routine and breakdown maintenance of their Production and Storage facilities. Aiding the continuous improvement initiatives across plant and attending plant breakdown, as well as assessing breakdown trends and adhering to asset lifecycle planning. As the sole instrument technician, you will provide technical support to all departments, the customer base and third-party suppliers.

Installation and commissioning of assets
Inspection and assessment
Contractor and supplier assessment
Assist in maintaining engineering budgets
Maintain documentation relating to site maintenance work, including the development and updating of the plant maintenance procedures.
Comply with site and organisational Health, Safety & Quality Policies
What you will need to be successful
As this is a stand-alone Instrumentation Technician, you will require good working knowledge of site assets and be competent in fault-finding and repair with limited guidance from others-essential that you are qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in electrical/instrument craft studies, coupled with several years-practical post-qualification experience of maintaining assets in a live operational site, such as oil, gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, pharma, energy and similar.
Demonstrated experience in the use of safe systems of work with sound engineering practices, knowledge of current UK and European engineering and pressure systems standards and Health & Safety legislation. A track record of working in a similar environment with limited super vision, excellent communication and organisational skills.

Right to work in the UK without sponsorship
Valid driving licence
Able to travel within the UK to cover additional sites
Available for call-out work on a rota'd basis
