They are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone who has recently transitioned from an assistant role and is ready to take on more responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our projects, focusing primarily on plot sites for house construction, with a particular emphasis on groundworks.
Key Responsibilities:

Cost Management: Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.

Tendering: Support the tendering process by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts.

Valuation: Conduct site visits to measure and value completed work, ensuring all project costs are accurately recorded.

Procurement: Assist in procuring materials and subcontractors, ensuring the best value for money while maintaining quality standards.

Contract Administration: Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, and resolving any contractual issues that arise.

Site Visits: Regularly visit project sites across Yorkshire and the North East to monitor progress, assess work quality, and liaise with site managers and clients.

Cost Control: Monitor project costs and progress, identifying and addressing any financial risks or discrepancies.

Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management, providing insights into project financial status and forecasts.
Requirements:

Experience: Previous 2-3 years experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, with a solid understanding of groundworks and site construction.

Education: Relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

Skills: Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office suite.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors, and team members.

Travel: Willingness to travel 2-3 days per week to different sites across Yorkshire and the North East.

Driving License: A valid UK driving license is essential.
