As a Head of Sustainability based in our Warwick office (3 days a week), you’ll be responsible for:
Own, define, and deliver the Wolseley Group’s sustainability / ESG strategy. Develop & implement a group sustainability framework and approach to drive sustainability improvements across the Group, including decarbonisation / net-zero targets, creating KPIs and a roadmap to achieve measurable improvements.
Ensure programmes and processes are in place to comply with sustainability related regulations, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy and CSDDD.
Maintain a company-wide environmental management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO14001 including training and sample auditing.
Support, influence and engage the owner, Board, Group LT, Divisional LTs, Business Unit and sustainability working group leads, in delivering against agreed sustainability improvement plans and lead the working group for waste management/reduction.
Present on sustainability strategy, metrics and progress to internal & external stakeholders, including the owner’s ESG specialists and the Board, on CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and CFD (Climate related Financial Disclosure) reporting frameworks.
This is a full time, permanent role working Mon-Friday 40 hours a week, with flexible hybrid working, up to 2 days remotely a week.
And here’s what we’d like you to have:
A Degree in a sustainability-related field (e.g. business sustainability, sustainable finance, environmental) etc. Diploma-level environmental qualification preferred.
Understanding of reporting requirements within CSRD, CfD & EU Taxonomy reporting frameworks.
Comprehensive understanding of developing, implementing and maintaining an ISO14001 management system.
Experience of partnering with boards, leadership teams and senior management in driving sustainability agenda and delivering improvements.
Commercial understanding of the strategic benefit sustainability provides for a business and how this can be leveraged for competitive advantage.
