Job title:Supply Chain Manager

Salary: £55,000 to £62,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide Procurement expertise and deliver a range of activities in support of ship build systems, equipment, parts, raw material and consumables
- Lead on cost by actively pursuing cost reduction or cost avoidance activities, bench marking of submitted costs to ensure value for money. Record and report cost savings / cost avoidance and deliver ongoing cost analysis
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, manage Supplier performance and improvement activities, including proactive risk and opportunity management and developing, maintaining and managing a wide range of stakeholders
- Lead the timely identification, analysis and resolution of internal and external issues, which may potentially affect the supply of material to programme requirements – escalating only when the context is particularly complex or high risk
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Undertake regular reviews of Engineering BoMs to ensure all change is captured and being processed. Establish a method to measure consumption of parts to ensure a smooth flow of materials at all times
- Regularly review stock levels against consumption to ensure that appropriate min-max levels are maintained and that the range and scale available aligns with current scope.
- Effectively delegate workload across the team, ensuring priorities are managed. Support less experienced members of the team to manage their workload effectively and identify development needs
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Experience in Contract management with a strong financial background in managing cost to budget, including forecasting
- Managing a team with the ability to challenge whilst providing support where required
- Strong stakeholder management experience with negotiation and influencing skills
- Extensive Procurement experience, MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS or suitable experience in a relevant role
Desirable:
- Experience of project management and project control processes and tools
- Awareness of legal environment related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and toolsets, Advanced Excel preferred
