Mechanical Design Engineer

Pay: £40K to £45K pa + Benefits

Location: near Barrowford, Lancashire

Position Type: Permanent

Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer:

Design and develop machinery and equipment, ensuring all designs meet functional and safety standards.
Create 3D models, technical drawings, and detailed design specifications using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or similar software.
Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure the design aligns with customer requirements and project specifications.
Contribute to all stages of the design process, from initial concept through to final manufacturing and delivery.
Problem-solve throughout the design phase, working closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, sales) for smooth project execution.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate design documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards.
Participate in design reviews to ensure the functionality, safety, and efficiency of machinery.

Requirements:

Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or equivalent.

Experience in mechanical design within the machinery manufacturing industry.

Strong attention to detail and a knack for problem-solving.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing principles is advantageous.
