As one of the largest performance door set manufacturers and architectural hardware suppliers in the UK, we provide bespoke Door Suites made onsite in our factory in North Wales.

We are seeking an inspirational Head of Production with a passion for manufacturing and demonstrable ability to operate successfully at a senior level in an autonomous stand-alone role.

You should have exceptional knowledge of modern production and packaging techniques and processes, with a solid understanding of quality and health & safety standards, ideally within a construction or manufacturing environment.

You will have extensive change management experience, with a proven ability to engage and inspire at all levels, optimising results across the business through “Lean Manufacturing.”

A natural motivator, you will have the ability to use your own initiative and be a strong decision maker, as well as being commercially astute with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

As Head of Production, you will ensure the site is highly dependable, responsive, competitive and puts safety first; closely followed by quality and customer service.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have overall leadership responsibility for the entire site and all employees.
Managing a team of over fifty colleagues onsite, you will be responsible for leading and delivering operational performance, shaping site supply chain strategy, and leading high performing teams.
Working closely with the Finance team you will manage a significant operational budget.
You will lead the site change process by facilitating best practice and sustainable process improvement through Lean Manufacturing Techniques.

Skills and Experience

A seasoned manufacturing professional, who can collaborate with key members of production and maintenance teams pushing where required.
A robust approach with colleagues where necessary, leading from the front, but being prepared to be involved in the day-to-day activities of the shopfloor to achieve enhanced results.
Experience within door set manufacturing or architectural hardware would be considered desirable though not essential.
A proven background in a manufacturing environment, along with at least 2 years in a management role
Previous experience within a senior level position, e.g. Operations Manager, Operations Director, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Factory Manager, General Manager etc.
Leadership and people management skills with the ability to build, motivate, develop, and improve teams.
Experience of taking manufacturing operations to World Class / Operational Excellence
Experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, implementing continuous improvement tools and techniques, and problem-solving techniques.
Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Strong organisational and critical thinking skills, with an initiative-taking and resourceful approach to quality assurance.

Monday to Thursday: 7.30am - 4.15pm (0730-1615) and Fridays: 7am - 1.30pm (0700-1330)
